Why it’s worth a visit
The Baan Nam Khem Tsunami Memorial Park is a place where you automatically find yourself speaking more softly. The fishing village of Baan Nam Khem was one of the places in Thailand hardest hit in December 2004. Where today there is an idyllic, green park right on the beach, unimaginable forces of nature raged back then.
