About James Bond Island
Why it’s worth a visit & The Hollywood story
James Bond Island – actually Khao Phing Kan, with the towering, needle-like rock island of Koh Tapu jutting out in front of it – is famous worldwide. The island owes its nickname to the James Bond film The Man with the Golden Gun (1974). It was here that the legendary villain Scaramanga (played by Christopher Lee) faced off against secret agent 007 (Roger Moore) in a duel.
